The M-Performance exhaust system for the BMW G80/G82 M3/M4 consists of three main components: the downpipe, center pipe, and rear exhaust. A similar exhaust design is also used for the G87 M2 M-Performance.


Starting from the front, the downpipe plays a crucial role.


The stock downpipe on the BMW F80/F82 M3/M4 includes a large catalytic converter due to stringent European emission regulations, which naturally reduces sound volume.

GWAPOTech offers options to replace this with either a straight pipe (de-cat) or a 200-cell sports catalytic converter (optional), which not only increases sound volume but also contributes to weight reduction and horsepower tuning.



The cat-back system, which includes both the rear exhaust and the center pipe, is another key area for sound tuning.


The stock setup features an unequal length center pipe with multiple large silencers, severely restricting exhaust efficiency. There are two versions of the center pipe, with or without OPF/GPF sensors, depending on the vehicle grade.


Theoretically, making this section straight would significantly increase the volume. However, excessive flow can lead to sound distortion and a coarse, unpleasant tone.

GWAPOTech has developed an equal-length center pipe to avoid sound distortion and maintain sound output even at high RPMs. This pipe is compatible with the stock rear exhaust and downpipe, allowing for standalone replacement.

 Additionally, for vehicles without GPF/OPF sensors, a single-type equal-length center pipe is available, further enhancing torque.


Materials offered include stainless steel and titanium.


And for the rear exhaust, we have adopted a variable valve system that allows the sound volume to be adjusted according to the usage
