Maserati MC20 Racing Exhaust system | GWAPOTech JAPAN
The Maserati MC20 consists of ① two-section downpipes and ② rear exhaust.
The muffler layout is very similar to that of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale.
Due to the strict emission regulations in the Eurozone, the stock muffler has GPF/OPF sensors on the front downpipes, and silencers are also installed on the rear muffler. This results in a sound that is far from the impressive look of the vehicle.
Additionally, we have received inquiries from customers who have already installed full exhaust systems from well-known domestic manufacturers, asking for higher-pitched and louder sounds. In response to these requests, we have developed a new design focused on high-pitched tones.
Let's start by looking at the rear muffler, which is the most common and fundamental part to achieve the high-pitched sound of the Maserati MC20.
As you can see from the image above, we develop rear exhaust for various purposes. They are broadly classified into the following two types:
① Sports mufflers equipped with variable valves
② Straight mufflers designed to increase high-pitched tones and volume
Our variable rear mufflers are designed with a more pronounced valve switching mechanism than the stock ones. The design takes into account the pipe size to ensure that the sound in straight mode is louder than the stock one. Additionally, we meticulously calculate the piping, punching, and placement of the glass wool inside the silencer to achieve noise reduction at a level comparable to the stock muffler when the valve is off.
The straight type features an X-pipe design to produce ultra-high-pitched tones at high RPMs.
Next, aside from the rear exhaust, the exhaust upgrade that can be mentioned is the downpipe. The stock downpipe consists of two sections. Domestic manufacturers usually make only one of these two sections straight, which leaves some exhaust interference. At our company, we develop both sections to be completely straight to eliminate any exhaust interference.
